Volunteer (Seva)

Seva is at the heart of Amma’s teaching, and the example she sets is an inspiration to millions. Seva is action in the service of others carried out with enthusiasm and discernment, without seeking personal gain. All the association’s leaders are volunteers, committed to serving society by embodying the values of benevolence and sharing.
The inner attitude with which an action is carried out is more important than the action itself. In this sense, seva is a genuine spiritual practice. This philosophy is part of the Indian spiritual tradition known as Karma Yoga. In the UK, you can join the teams that run the Center, and/or take part in the association’s activities in your region, according to your availability and desire to get involved.
Practice & learn online

Sunday practices (Satsang)
Connect and come together to chant the Archana (108 names of Amma & the 1000 names of the divine Mother), Mahishasuramardhini Stotram, reading from Amma’s books and Arati.
Archana practice on Karthika
In India, Karthika is the monthly celebration of Amma’s moon birthstar.
Lead the Archana (108 names of Amma and 1000 names of the divine Mother) from your house, with family and friends, or as part of your local group on Karthika.
Children’s program (Bala Kendra)
Amrita Bala Kendra (ABK), inspired by Amma’s teachings, nurtures spiritual values, cultural awareness, and scriptural knowledge in children.
Held biweekly via Zoom for ages 4 and above, the classes provide practical tools through stories, games, music, and activities, making learning engaging and meaningful.
