Support Our Work
Amma’s works around the world and Amma’s association in the UK function solely thanks to the selfless work of thousands of volunteers and the generosity of its donors. Your donation, big or small, is gratefully received.
Donate

Your donation can support our international initiatives as well as our UK activities.
- In the UK: you can contribute to Amma’s visit, MA centre expenses, puja, IAM meditation…
- Internationally, Embracing the World is a global network of regional humanitarian organizations inspired by the India-based humanitarian initiatives of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math. We help alleviate suffering through disaster relief, healthcare, education, women’s empowerment, environmental protection, and by harnessing technology to improve the lives of people in poverty.
Volunteer (Seva)

Seva is at the heart of Amma’s teaching, and the example she sets is an inspiration to millions. Seva is action in the service of others carried out with enthusiasm and discernment, without seeking personal gain. All the association’s leaders are volunteers, committed to serving society by embodying the values of benevolence and sharing.
The inner attitude with which an action is carried out is more important than the action itself. In this sense, seva is a genuine spiritual practice. This philosophy is part of the Indian spiritual tradition known as Karma Yoga. In the UK, you can join the teams that run the Center, and/or take part in the association’s activities in your region, according to your availability and desire to get involved.

In today’s world, people experience two types of poverty: the poverty caused by lack of food, clothing and shelter, and the poverty caused by lack of love and compassion. Of these two, the second type needs to be considered first because if we have love and compassion in our hearts, then we will wholeheartedly serve those who suffer from lack of food, clothing and shelter.
